By this point, my partner and I have had about three days of filming on our belts. I personally was getting a little impatient with all the adjustments I had to make. However, doing this consistently helps improve the quality of your content. My partner and I made a list of things we needed to adjust, such as improving the non-verbal character development. In my last blog, I exclaimed that my actors needed to research more into the character traits and read more into the background of our thesis writing. Regarding our points and efforts in the plot. Our theme has a lot to do with this being that its intent is to scare and almost confuse the audience on who is the bad guy. Blocking and staging are new concepts we both researched when it comes to film. Lucky for us it's all on camera letting us stop and start and start whenever we feel necessary. Blocking means where your point on the stage to the audience is. Our actors are obviously frame-front and quite obviously the main point in the frame. We planned on making our filming schedule work around are other responsibilities so we came up with a schedule to use as a reference.
Spacing the filming into multiple days allows us to review and talk about what's going on and what changes we need to make before our deadline. Finding the ideal ratio between explanation and curiosity, such that interest is not overwhelmed by information, requires skill. Technical challenges such as lighting, sound, and continuity increase in complexity and necessitate perfect coordination. Directing actors to exhibit the right emotions and chemistry adds another layer of difficulty to these challenges. Luckily for me, (I, the director) it's precisely in these challenges that the magic of filmmaking truly shines through. Each obstacle overcome signifies a win and creates the opportunity for an intriguing story to be told. The film's dedication and teamwork, attained via perseverance and creativity, are demonstrated in the first scene. Looking forward to seeing the work my team and I are putting forth.
